18 September 2007 HighlightHow could I possibly not mention this? At the top of a very, very steep climb up from Wells to the Mendips on NCN 3 is a little village called Priddy. In said little village is the Queen Victoria Inn, where the world's best chicken and bacon sandwich (front) may be purchased, complete with a pint of Cheddar Valley to wash it down. In the background is Anna's Stilton and red onion tart. It's worth doing NCN 3 just for that. Hm, just been reading the iPhone coverage. Maybe get one (to use as a modem on the boat, in particular) when 3G comes along. EDGE may not be that bad, but I suspect their "north of 30%" coverage probably doesn't extend much north of Watford yet. CommentsYou'd be better off with a data card if your laptop can take one, especially as the iPhone doesn't act as a modem. It shouldn't be a hard app for somebody to write though. Posted by Duncan MacGregor on 19.9.07 00:55 Oh, it's been done - do a Google for "tether iphone" or "iphone modem socks". I've been wondering about a data card, but would rather have one phone (and one phone bill) than two. The machine on the boat is a desktop (G5) anyway. :) Posted by Richard on 19.9.07 09:50 The New Inns (just round the corner) is much better ! All the food is locally sourced and the chef is excellent. Posted by Malcolm Coghill on 3.10.07 15:34 c328t Posted by ma50zda on 19.10.07 01:42 |
