Privacy policy

When you use Path Surveyor, we're grateful for your trust in our app, and we aim to remain worthy of that trust.

This app is developed and operated by Editions Systeme D Ltd, 11 Market Street, Charlbury, Oxfordshire OX7 3PH, United Kingdom. All data is hosted on servers within the European Union.

We do not collect any personally identifying data within this app. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information. All data you submit via the app must be factual, non-identifying, and uncreative.

The factual data that you submit will be available for download and reuse, including (but not limited to) mapping projects such as OpenStreetMap, and analysis of path, structure and access quality. We will provide this data for download under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) licence. To the extent allowable by law, you agree to disclaim all rights in this data, and provide Editions Systeme D Ltd with a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free licence to the data.

The app enables you to take photos of, and make textual reports about, the locations you visit. You must ensure you do not submit any personally identifying information (e.g. images of people) within this data.

The "Start recording" function and survey functions enable you to record your location. You must ensure you do not submit any personally identifying information (e.g. the location of your or others' homes) within this data.

Your uploaded data will include a unique ID which is generated on first running the app. This is not tied to any personal information but is held on your phone solely for the purpose of allowing you to recover the data you upload at a later date. This ID is not included in the data we make available for download or analysis. You may disable this unique ID by accessing "Path Surveyor" settings in the Settings app on your iPhone.

This app is not intended for use by children.

Right to be forgotten

If you believe that we hold personal data about you, and you would like this to be removed from our servers and records, please email greenspace@systemed.net with details of the information concerned. You can find out more about the right to be forgotten at gdpr-info.eu.
